Currently a lot of activity has been spawning around the creation of a new wireless standard.

However, questions are being asked, as

  • What is it that we need?
  • What is different over 3G and WLAN?
  • Will “it” be another cellular standard or much more?
  • Will WiMAX offer a roadmap to 4G?
  • Is IMS a step towards a 4G core network?
  • Will 3GPP or ETSI be the place for standardization?

Confirmed panelists:

  • Hartmut Kremling, CTO, Vodafone D2 GmbH, Germany
  • Young Kyun Kim, Senior VP, Global Standards & Strategy, Samsung Electronics, South Korea
  • Dr. Werner Mohr, VP Research Alliances, Siemens AG, Germany
